Gary Halbert, John Carlton, Dan Kennedy… et moi?

Although I do not agree with some of what these guys teach I certainly have gleaned from their years of wisdom. I never would have thought there’d be a day when I’d be compared to them…but I have been!

Jason Moffatt compared me to these guys today on his blog. Unbelievable!

Check it out. In typical Moffatt style it is provocatively done. www.JasonMoffatt.com

Now, let me tell you this. I like Jason a lot.

Why?

Because he is brutally honest. Not prim and proper, just really honest.

You might say that he’s a bit much, “off”, over the top… but underneath that he’s an intelligent, honest, heartful and believe it or not, spiritual guy.

I know he makes this comment about me with all sincerity. No agenda. He simply believes it to be so.

I couldn’t have believed it would have happened but, especially coming from Jason, I truly am honored by it.

Thanks Moffatt!

As the first wave of “Clarke’s Commandos”,we’ve gotten more useful advice and counseling than what other mentors would offer. The kicks in the butt are well deserved, but then followed up by sincere encouragement. Would I align Shaune with the “greats”? Heck yeah. The intricate and delicately balanced copy that he teaches is difficult to learn, but he insists on persevering. Never give up, never say die. How many other mentors pour their essence into their coaching programs?

Thanks Terri.

Cheri says she likes Clarke’s Commando’s. Me, I think it’s a bit much.

No doubt… perseverance is what wins!

I’ve never said this on a coaching call but one of the things I do like to say is…

Look for forward movement. Don’t compare, don’t seek to be finished, simply look for the forward movement.

I think that’s why you deserve to be in the company of the great ones.

You believe in moving forward.

Something I believe strongly is that if you’re not moving forward, you going backward.

There’s no standing still.

Shuane Clarke wasn’t happy with just learning what other copywriting masters where teaching. He had to move forward in his own direction.

That’s what you’ve been showing us. How to come up with our own techniques, methods and unique signatures.

You’re not looking for Clarke Commandos. You don’t want desciples. You want to help us become unique and stand alone copywriters.

Where my ideal clients will only work with me, because it’s “John Manley Copy.”

Study the masters. Then make it your own.

Thanks Shaune

Well said, John.

I’ve never worked with anyone who’s not only taught me so much, but cheered so loudly when I finally “got it”!

Now… if I can only figure out these Body Copy Headlines! :)

It truly is a great gift to see others “Cut Their Own Path.” I have always had this thing about freedom, of self expression. Not to the ridicuous, just not feeling that we need to conform.

One of the things I miss (it got misplaced in my move from Vancouver) is a framed poster by Martin Luther King. It quoted him as saying, “From every mountain top let freedom ring.” I can “feel” him saying it. Powerful.

That word freedom has broad meaning to me.

I disagree John. I don’t think I’m showing you HOW to be unique and stand alone. That already is. I’m just suggesting that it’s OK…actually, that it’s ideal.

What do ya mean Cheri… figure them out. They’re already all through your copy. You just need to bold in the right places. : )

I said Larry, Curly, and Moe.

Not those dudes.

Bro,

I can’t believe the class is almost over.

What a wild ride it’s been. It’s something
I’ll cherish forever.

Thanks man.

Hard to believe eh Moffatt.

It’s been such a great time.

I know I say this on behalf of everyone in your group, you will be missed.

For sure you and I will remain friends but there’s something special that happens in these groups, something irreplaceable.

I can’t quite put my finger on it but I know it’s got something to do with human connection, perhaps that’s all it is.

Wednesday night, something special ends.

We’ll all “feel” it!
